Avian Influenza: Protect your Birds

Tuesday, April 9, 2024

The Ministère de l'Agriculture, des Pêcheries et de l'Alimentation du Québec (MAPAQ) is asking for your help in optimizing avian flu prevention measures for small bird farms.

The threat of avian influenza is now present all year round and here to stay. Although the spring migration period increases the risk of domestic birds being exposed to the virus, infections can occur in any season.

Faced with this new reality, biosecurity is our best weapon.

It's imperative that all poultry owners, whatever the size of their farm, rigorously comply with protection and prevention measures. Everyone has a responsibility to protect their birds and the health of the Quebec flock.
