Action Plan - Detecting Lead in Drinking Water

Action Plan - Detecting Lead in Drinking Water

Le règlement sur la qualité de l’eau potable (RQEP) of Quebec requires testing for lead and copper in water supplied by distribution systems. Since March 2021, the lead standard has been much stricter to further reduce exposure to lead in drinking water. The Health Canada standard is now 5 µg/L.

The provincial government has asked Quebec municipalities to develop a municipal plan to reduce lead in drinking water, following Health Canada's recommendations. You can consult the plan for the municipality of Township of Low below. Following the action plan, the annual water quality report will be published annually.
